David O. de Abreu

David de Abreu

David O. de Abreu is a Taunton native and a graduate of Coyle-Cassidy High School. He graduated from Marquette University in 1991 and Villanova Law School in 1994. Attorney de Abreu is admitted to practice law in both Massachusetts and Rhode Island and before the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts.

David concentrates his practice in personal injury, criminal law, landlord-tenant issues and other litigation. He has tried numerous cases before all levels of the trial court. "I get enormous job satisfaction in helping people during a difficult time in their life. Although many times we can successfully conclude a matter through settlement, if necessary we have the resources and experience to take a case to trial."

In addition to his trial work, David has successfully worked on two cases decided by the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court, Commonwealth v. Jung, 651 N.E.2nd 1211 (Mass. 1995), and Swanset Development Corp. v. City of Taunton, 668 N.E.2d 333 (Mass. 1996). He also appeared before the Appeals Court in Thorell v. Adap, 789 N.E.2d 1086 (Mass.App.Ct. 2003), in which the Court affirmed the granting of Summary Judgment in favor of his client.

David is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association, the Rhode Island Bar Association, the Bristol County Bar Association and the Taunton Bar Association.
